Psalm 19:1-4a says The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. (NIV) And then in Revelation 5:12-13 we read In a loud voice they sang: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”
Lifting our voices in worship praise and our hearts in contemplative praise marks the follower of Jesus. We join with all nature and the voices of heaven to declare how great is God and how He has touched out lives!
Church in the Pines has always had an encouraging emphasis on music and we have encouraged children, teens, and adults to consider leading and serving in worship ministry.
Alede Kearley has been our Worship Director for many years and she is excellent at helping others to use their gifts in worship. Alede also leads one of the worship bands and accompanies other musicians on the piano. She also organizes a monthly area-wide hymn sing/concert at our church called Big Sing.
Our Worship Services have two worship bands that alternate weekly leading worship.
This part of our website will be more fully developed over time. We plan to add videos of music we have been doing, Christian album reviews, information on Christian concerts coming up in our area (local and Boston area), and a discussion forum on worship.
