Church in the Pines is actively involved in many areas of our community, and we’re always eager to explore new ways to serve locally. Many of our current outreach opportunities began with a single person’s vision or a Small Group coming together with a shared desire to make a difference in the lives of others. We welcome and encourage that kind of creativity, passion, and initiative as we continue growing our impact. 

Each year, our attenders donate a designated Thanksgiving food item to help local organizations assemble Thanksgiving Food Baskets. Many of our members also volunteer their time to distribute these baskets to families in need. In November, we extend this spirit of generosity by collecting dry goods to support our local Food Pantry. 

Our Missions Committee invites our attenders to donate unwrapped toys for local children in need. These gifts are distributed through our local Food Pantry, bringing joy and hope to families in our community. Each year, hundreds of toys—along with other essential items—are shared with clients just before Christmas. What a blessing to be part of something that touches so many lives! 

Angel Tree has been a cherished service project for many years, providing Christmas gifts to local children whose mother or father is incarcerated. Each December, people of CIP generously give dozens of gifts, and our members personally deliver them to their families. This outreach is part of the national ministry of Prison Fellowship, and there is always plenty of room for more people to get involved. 

Each month, a dedicated group gathers to knit and crochet items for local nursing homes, the homeless, children, newborns, and other community organizations. Their handmade creations are donated throughout the year, offering comfort and care to those who need it most. 

Our Nursing Home Ministry began several years ago when a retired pastor from CIP felt a deep calling to serve residents in local care facilities. He gathered a team that now visits area nursing homes to lead services and offer spiritual support and encouragement to the residents. This ministry continues to be a meaningful way our church shares God’s love with those who can feel forgotten. 

The sky is the limit when you put your love for Jesus into action and step out to make a difference in the lives of others!
